It is with great sadness that we hear the announcement from Buckingham Palace of the passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, on the 8th September, our thoughts are with the Royal Family.

Royal Book of Condolence

The Union Flag will fly at half-mast until 8:00 am the morning following the state funeral; with the exception of Proclamation Day when the Union Flag will fly at full mast between 10:00 hrs on Saturday 10th until 13:00 hrs on Sunday 11th September to coincide with the Reading of the Principal Proclamation and Proclamations across the United Kingdom.

Join the Nation in a minute’s silence at 8:00 pm.

Monday, 19th September 2022
We invite you to join our community event commemorating the life of Queen Elizabeth II. We will be screening a live broadcast of the State Funeral at 11:00 am. Afterwards you are invited to The White Lion for a buffet lunch, compliments of Ash Village Hall Charity, when we can reflect on the events of the last few days and the 70 years of the reign of Her Majesty.
The Village Hall will be open from 9:00 am onwards

Those who do not have access to the internet or are not able to go to a location to sign a book of condolence, can send handwritten messages or cards to be addressed to Chair of Shropshire Council, Democratic Services, Shirehall, Shrewsbury SY2 6ND. These will be placed in the books of condolence.
