Ash Jubilee Walk 18 June ’17

Jubilee Walkers – The rain and sun in the last couple of weeks has certainly brought on the crops and grasses! Sturdy walking shoes and long trousers are strongly recommended. You can do the walk in sections, so you can do as much or as little as you please. The weather report is wall to wall sunshine & 25C so sun hats and sun cream also strongly recommended, a bottle of water is a must! A decent pair of secateurs wouldn’t go amiss either! Binoculars if you want to make the most of the views. We are checking the route and will be at the Village Hall at 2:30 pm for an update/start of the walk, look forward to seeing you there.

Shropshire Village Halls Quiz

Do you like general knowledge/enjoy quizzing?  Would you like to join a Village Halls Quiz team? Shropshire Village Halls are having a quiz challenge.

The quiz evenings will be hosted by village halls across Shropshire, once a month on a Friday evening, from October to April*. The teams will be four persons (not necessarily the same four!).  We would be delighted if you would like to join the pool of people to represent Ash Village Hall.

We need a person who is willing to be a point of contact to co-ordinate the team each month.  Refreshments, sandwiches, cake, tea or coffee will be provided by the host hall for £2.50 per person.

Let us know by end of June if you are interested. Please contact us

*6 October; 3 November; 1 December; 2017 & 5 January; 2 February; 2 March & 13 April 2018

The Golden Potato Trophy

Just for fun enter our Golden Potato Competition.

So we are all beginning from a level playing field; collect your bag of seed potatoes, cost £3, from  the Village Hall or contact us if you would like some.

There are two classes so you can plant your spuds as either, ground or container grown. Bring along your prize potato root to the Produce Show in the autumn (date TBC) for the big weigh in and the chance to win our Golden Potato Trophy!
